At McKinsey, we distinguish ourselves by our ability to tackle some of the toughest challenges in the world. And this desire to push boundaries and achieve great things extends outside of our day-to-day work with clients and to our personal interests and pursuits.
Just last week, for instance, Jean-Frederic Kuentz, a senior partner in our Taiwan office and leader of our High Tech Practice in Greater China, became the third person in the world ever to perform an “Everesting” of Mount Haleakala in Maui, Hawaii.
For those of you who don't know what that means, Jean-Frederic biked up Mount Haleakala (3,055 meters above sea level) three times in a single day, which is equivalent to scaling Mount Everest.
And he did it faster than the two other brave souls who dared to take on this dangerous feat before him, making him the world record holder for the “Everesting” of Mount Haleakala.
And, as if that was not enough, Jean-Frederic became the 66th person in the world to bike to the top of Mauna Kea (4207m) on Hawaii’s Big Island.
What’s his next challenge? Everesting Hehuan Wuling, Taiwan’s highest altitude road pass? Share your suggestions in the comments!
